I've been struggling with ear eczema for a while now, and my doctor prescribed Dermotic 0.01% Oil Ear Drops. I've used it for a couple of weeks and noticed some improvement, but I'm a bit concerned about the side effects. Has anyone else tried this? How did it work for you? I'd love to hear some personal experiences and any tips on managing side effects. Also, what's the actual application process?

I'm so glad I found this thread. I've been prescribed Dermotic but was nervous about trying it. Hearing from others with similar experiences helps a lot. I will definitely ask my doctor more questions before starting though.

It might be worth checking if you could demonstrate to your doctor, as to properly administer this medicine, the medicine often needs to cover the entire ear canal. Given it's an oil, it really sticks around and works effectively, but can be messy. You can often find a video online of a doctor demonstrating.

I wish they wouldn't put these warnings in big bold letters. Now I'm worried about Cushing's syndrome and other side effects.

Mine gave me a rash, so I had to stop. Definitely worth discussion with your doctor if you get any weird symptoms.

I've been using Dermotic for a month now and it's been a game-changer. I had severe itching and redness, and this stuff calmed it down pretty quickly. Just make sure to follow the instructions carefully—it's not like other ear drops that you can just squirt in.

I'm new to this, does anyone know if Dermotic has any long-term effects?

I had a similar issue with a different steroid ear drop. I got to the point where the small gains were not worth the risk of a long list of side effects. But of all the side effects you've listed, the allergic reaction is the one that matters the most; it's easily noticeable.

Dermotic worked for me, but I had to be very careful with the application. I found that using a cotton swab to gently put the drops in worked best for me. I was also concerned about steroid ear drops working on my ear inflammation, and there was nothing to worry about. I recommend using a sterile environment.

I've been using Dermotic for a few days and it's been working great so far. I didn't get any side effects, and it's been a relief from the itching and redness. I hope it continues to work for me.

I'd like to hear from more people who have used Dermotic and how long it takes to see improvement. I'm on day 3 and haven't seen much difference yet.
