I've been prescribed Penicillin Gk 5mu Inj, 1 Vial for a bacterial infection. It's my first time using this specific antibiotic, and I'm a bit nervous about the potential side effects. The doctor explained that it's given as an injection, either into a vein (IV) or a muscle (IM), but the list of possible side effects is quite long and includes some serious ones like allergic reactions and high potassium levels. Anyone out there have experience with this? What should I be most concerned about? How did you handle the side effects if you had any? Looking for some reassurance and tips.

I've had Penicillin G before and the injection was pretty uncomfortable, but the side effects weren't too bad for me. Just some mild diarrhea and a bit of an upset stomach. Make sure to drink plenty of water and eat light, easy-to-digest foods if you experience similar side effects.

Diarrhea is common but not to be ignored. Stay hydrated and eat light food. If you don't see improvement in a few days, call your doctor.

I got Penicillin Gk 5mu Inj, 1 Vial and had muscle cramps and mild diarrhea. I took some over-the-counter meds for the cramps and it was manageable. Hang in there, hope it works out for you!

Ideally, have someone with you when you get the injection in case of any reactions. They can help monitor your response.
