Anyone else been prescribed 14-day course of Omeprazole 20mg (OTC) Tablets for heartburn? How was your experience?
I've been having frequent heartburn for the past few weeks, and my doctor prescribed a 14-day course of Omeprazole 20mg (OTC) Tablets. I'm curious to hear from others who have taken this medication. How effective was it for you? Did you experience any side effects? Any tips for managing the side effects or general advice? I'm particularly worried about the more serious side effects listed in the pamphlet. Has anyone else had any issues? I've only taken it for a few days and it seems to be helping so far, but I'm still a bit anxious.

I switched to a different PPI because Omeprazole gave me headaches. Everyone's different, so if you have issues, talk to your doctor.
Be careful with this stuff. I took it for a few weeks and ended up with some crazy skin reactions. I had to stop immediately and see a doctor. Not fun.
I'm on day 7 of my 14-day course. It's been a game-changer for me. No more heartburn, but I did get a bit of stomach pain and diarrhea for the first few days. I think it's because I piled up on spicy food and thought I can just take the PPI for the pain. Don’t do that!
I had to stop taking Omeprazole because it gave me some really bad kidney issues. Definitely not worth it for me. But I've heard it works for a lot of people though.
I took Omeprazole and had no side effects. I had a lot of relief from heartburn. I will say that I felt more energized and better overall. I never had a issue with it and I was taking them for months. Definitely recommend.
