I was recently prescribed Tobramycin 0.3% Oph Sol 5ml for a bacterial eye infection. It's an antibiotic that helps stop the bacterial growth, but I've been having some mild irritation. I'm wondering if anyone else has used this and had similar experiences? The side effects list is pretty long, and I'm a bit worried about the more serious ones. Does anyone have any tips or advice on managing the irritation or any of the other potential side effects? I want to make sure I'm doing everything right. Any insights would be much appreciated!

I had to use Tobramycin for an eye infection a few years back. It did the job, but I did experience some eye irritation. Make sure to keep your hands away from your eyes and follow the dosage exactly. Also, it really helped to keep a cold compress on my eye to relieve the irritation.

This sounds like a nightmare. I had conjunctivitis a while back and the drops I used made my eyes feel like they were on fire. I can't imagine dealing with something much worse.

I really hope you feel better soon! Eye infections are the worst. Just stay positive and finish the medicine!

Oh wow. I’ve never heard of this, but it sounds intense. Always scary to have something go wrong with your eyes, though. What kind of bacteria did you have? Are you seeing a specialist or just your general doctor?

I just finished a course of this for an infection. The irritation was real, but not too bad. I found that using artificial tears helped a lot. Just be careful not to touch your eye too much after using them.

I've only ever had to use antibiotic eye drops once, and it was a whole ordeal. Maybe it's best to take a painkiller or something before using them. I don’t know how I would handle the irritation.

I've had to use Tobramycin a couple of times and it's never been fun, but it always does the job. Hang in there and keep your head down. You will feel better soon.

I had a similar experience with Tobramycin. The eye irritation was annoying, but it cleared up after a few days. Stick with it, and if it gets worse, definitely call your doctor. Good luck!

I've never had to use this, but a friend of mine did. He said it was a bit of a pain to have to use eye drops all the time, but it worked well. Just make sure to finish the whole course even if your eyes feel better.
