I was prescribed Trusopt 2% Ophth Soln 10ml to manage high pressure in my eyes and prevent glaucoma. It's been a couple of weeks and while it seems to be doing its job, I've been experiencing some burning and stinging in my eyes, and a bit of eye irritation. I'm also getting a bad taste in my mouth. I figure that these are probably normal side effects, but I want to hear from others who might be going through the same thing. Has anyone else had similar experiences, or worse? How did you cope and what did your doctors say. I'd appreciate any insights or advice you can offer. Thanks in advance!

I can't stand the bad taste in the mouth. I always rinse it out with water after using the drops. Some people say it gets better with time, but I can't tell. So far, it's the only thing that has worked for me.

Why are eye drop side effects so rude? I’ve had this issue with other eye drops as well. Maybe it's just me, but it kind of ticks me off.

I've been on Trusopt for a while and the burning and stinging get better with time. I found using artificial tears throughout the day helps a lot.

I've been lucky with no side effects, but my friend had a severe reaction. If you notice any signs of a serious allergic reaction, get to a doctor immediately.

I've had no side effects, and it helps keep my IOP down. But I hate the idea of a bad reaction, especially with the liver and blood problems. Honestly, I'd never have guessed

How often do you use it? I think mine was less of a problem when I spaced the doses. I’m off it now, but for the first month, it was a nightmare! I had to keep up with it, or I would have a really bad time.
