I was recently prescribed Fanapt 10mg Tablets for schizophrenia, and while it seems to be helping with the hallucinations, I'm finding the drowsiness unbearable. I can barely stay awake during the day. Is this a common side effect? Are there any tips to manage it? I'm also curious about the long-term effects of taking this medication. Has anyone had experience with that?

I've read about some serious potential side effects, but my doctor assured me they are rare. I'm still a bit worried, though. Anyone have any insights or advice to share?

Fanapt can be great, and it is worth managing the side effects if taking it is useful for you. Just remember, it's all about finding the right balance and what works best for you. And the best way to do that is by being open with your doctor. Good luck!

I've been on Fanapt for a few months now, and the drowsiness does get better with time. Try to stick with it and see if your body adjusts. Also, taking it at night might help with the daytime sleepiness.

I had a terrible reaction to this medication. Avoided hospital visit by a shred. If you experience dizziness or fainting, get to an emergency room immediately.

Remember, everyone's body reacts differently to medication. What works for one person might not work for another. Be patient and communicate openly with your doctor.

I've been on Fanapt for a few years now, and while it took some time to adjust, it's been a game-changer for me. Just stick with it and give your body time to adapt.

I've been on Fanapt for a year and haven't had any serious side effects. Just make sure to stay hydrated and listen to your body.

I switched to a different antipsychotic because of the side effects. Maybe consider talking to your doctor about other options if the drowsiness doesn't improve.

Be careful with the drowsiness. I ended up falling asleep at work and got in trouble. Maybe talk to your doctor about adjusting the dose or trying something else.

I had the same issue with drowsiness. My doctor suggested splitting the dose, so I take half in the morning and half at night. It seems to help with the fatigue.

Don't worry about the side effects too much they're usually rare, and the medication can be very helpful. If you're concerned, though, it's always a good idea to talk to your doctor about reducing your dose.
