I've been using Heparin Lock Flush 10u/ml Inj, 3ml for my IV line, and while it's supposed to prevent clots, I've noticed some weird side effects. Anyone else experiencing anything unusual? My nurse said it's rare, but I'm not so sure. It's supposed to keep the IV line open, but I've had some issues. I've also heard it can cause some serious allergic reactions. Anyone know if switching to a different flush solution is an option?

Has anyone had any neurological symptoms? I've heard that's a rare side effect, but it's possible. Like difficulty speaking or changes in balance, or drooping on one side of the face? I'm just curious.

Just a heads-up, if you experience any unusual bruising or uncontrollable bleeding, get to a doctor ASAP. Those are serious signs of a problem. I've seen this happen to a friend, and it wasn't pretty.

I had a really bad reaction to it and ended up in the hospital. Never again for me. I wish I had known about these side effects before.

I've had similar issues. It caused some strange burning sensations on the soles of my feet. I mentioned it to my doctor, and they said it was unusual but not unheard of. I ended up switching to a different flush solution, and it has been much better. Just make sure to talk to your healthcare provider before making any changes.

I've heard that some people have had issues with skin breakdown at the site of administration. That sounds awful. I'm glad I haven't had any problems with it.

This is scary. I've never had issues but now I'm worried. I'm definitely going to mention this to my doctor next time I see them. Any thoughts on what causes these reactions?

Yep, I had a bad reaction too. Swelling and redness at the injection site. Luckily, it went away quickly, but it was scary at the time. I was even more worried about the bleeding symptoms. Hopefully, it's not a common issue.

This is a great reminder to always report side effects to the FDA. You can do it online or by calling 1-800-332-1088. Maybe if more people report issues, they can figure out why this happens to some people and not others.

My doctor told me that Heparin Lock Flush is generally safe, but like any medication, it can cause side effects. If you're experiencing anything unusual, don't hesitate to reach out to your healthcare provider. It's always better to be safe.
