I recently started taking Prenatal/fe Tablets and I'm noticing some strange side effects. I know they're important for my baby's development, but the constipation and upset stomach are getting pretty intense. Has anyone else experienced this? Are there any tricks to make them more tolerable? I'm hoping to get some insights from fellow moms-to-be or anyone with experience. Thanks!

I switched to a gummy vitamin during my first trimester because the pills were just too hard to swallow. No more upset stomach, but the gummies are more expensive. Might be worth a try!

My doctor said the iron in the prenatal vitamins can cause constipation and upset stomach. You might want to talk to your doctor about adjusting your dosage or finding a different brand that has a lower iron content, or just take a stool softener. Good luck!

Same, I've had to switch brands a few times to find one that doesn't make me nauseous.

Make sure you're eating a balanced diet too. Sometimes the vitamins can be hard to absorb if you're not getting enough nutrients from your food. Also, taking them with a meal can help with the absorption and the upset stomach.

I felt the same way at first, but I found that taking them with a full meal helps a lot. Also, staying hydrated is key! Good luck, mama!
