I was recently prescribed Diltiazem ER 300mg Capsules (24 Hr) to manage my high blood pressure and angina. I've been taking it for about a month now, and while my doctor says my blood pressure is under control, I'm experiencing some side effects like dizziness and fatigue. Has anyone else had similar experiences? I'm curious to know how others are doing with this medication and if there are any tips for managing the side effects. For those who've been on it longer, how have you found it overall in terms of effectiveness and tolerability? What are the common side effects that you faced and how did you manage them? I appreciate any insights or advice you can share!

My doctor said that Diltiazem affects the calcium channels in your heart, which helps relax the blood vessels and slow the heart rate. It's kind of fascinating once you think about it!

I've been lucky and haven't had any major side effects. But I did notice a strange rash on my body. Should I be worried?

Allergic reactions and liver issues are listed as urgent side effects, so it's important to monitor any unusual symptoms, including rash, nausea, or yellow skin, and contact your doctor immediately. Don't wait for your next appointment if you notice something wetting you down!

Isn't it weird how Diltiazem works? Essentially, it slows down your heart rate, so your heart can pump blood better. I've always wondered how a medication can slow your heart rate to help it work better.
