I was recently prescribed Oral Citrate Solution to help prevent kidney stones. My doctor explained that it makes my urine less acidic, which can stop stones from forming or growing. I've been taking it for a few weeks now and want to know if anyone else has experience with this medication. I'm curious about side effects—especially the urgent ones like allergic reactions— and how to manage them. I've had some mild stomach upset, but nothing too bad so far. Has anyone else had other side effects like diarrhea or vomiting? Also, I noticed the FDA has a system for reporting side effects. Has anyone used it before? Any tips on navigating this would be super helpful. Thanks!

Be diligent with taking this medication. It really does help if you follow the instructions carefully. If you miss a dose or take it at the wrong time, it might not work as well.

My friend was on Oral Citrate, and he had some stomach issues, but he found that taking it with a meal or a snack helped a lot. It has some useful tips that worked for me too.

This stuff is a lifesaver! I was getting kidney stones way too often, and this has really helped. I did have a weird rash a few months into taking it, but it turned out to be a mild allergic reaction. My doctor switched me to a different brand, and I've been fine since. Don't ignore any skin changes, though—better safe than sorry.

I had no idea this med could cause allergic reactions. That's scary stuff. Has anyone talked to their doctor about what to do if that happens?

I think it's great that the FDA has a system for reporting side effects. If you're concerned about anything, definitely report it. It helps others who might be going through the same thing.

I've been on Oral Citrate for about a year now. It's worked great for preventing kidney stones, but I did have some initial issues with an upset stomach. Drinking plenty of water and taking it with food helped a lot. No major side effects, though, which is a plus!

I've heard that some people experience diarrhea as a side effect. Have you tried adjusting your diet to see if it helps? For me, it was a learning curve on managing my diet because some foods really affected me. But I feel a lot better now than I did before I started the medication.
