I've been prescribed Pitavastatin 1mg tablets to help lower my cholesterol and triglycerides. I've read that it works by reducing the amount of 'bad' cholesterol (LDL) and increasing its removal from the blood, which should help reduce my risk of heart disease and stroke. Has anyone else been on this medication? I'm curious to hear about your experiences, both good and bad. What side effects have you encountered, if any? How has it affected your daily life? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I talked to my doctor and asked for an actual alternative to it. He said it's very effective and safe, and I should give it a try. It's pretty dangerous not to take it if your doctor recommended it.

Been on this for a while. It's okay, but I've had some serious stomach issues. I had cramps a lot. I wasn't sure if it was the drug or something else, so I switched to a different statin. You should be careful and monitor side effects closely.

I switched from another statin to Pitavastatin and noticed a significant difference. The side effects were much less severe. I did have some muscle pain initially, but it subsided after a few weeks. Just make sure to keep an eye on your liver and kidney function.

How often do you take it, once a day?

I've been on Pitavastatin for about a year now, and it's been a game-changer for my cholesterol levels. My doctor monitored me closely for side effects at first, but I haven't had any major issues. Just some occasional muscle pain, but nothing too bad. I make sure to stay hydrated and stretch regularly to keep it under control. Definitely worth it to avoid the risk of heart disease.

I was nervous about starting Pitavastatin, but my doctor reassured me that the benefits outweigh the risks for most people. I've been taking it for six months and so far, so good. No serious side effects for me. It's important to follow the doctor's advice and get regular check-ups.

I heard that statins can cause muscle pain and damage, so I am always worried about that. How common is it?

I take this daily and have had no side effects. I've found it's helped my cholesterol levels a lot. I also eat a healthier diet and exercise, might be helping too!

Makes me remember the time I saw some random website that said statins are dangerous. I just brush it off now. We need to pay more attention to what doctors say than random websites. Stick to the doctors.

Pitavastatin has been a lifesaver for me. My cholesterol levels were through the roof, and now they're almost back to normal. Just make sure to take it at the same time every day and follow your doctor's instructions. The side effects are minimal compared to the benefits.
