I was recently prescribed Prevymis 20mg Oral Pellets to manage a cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection. This antiviral medication is meant to stop the virus from multiplying, which is crucial for me since I recently received a stem cell transplant and I am at a higher risk of developing complications. Unfortunately, I have been experiencing some side effects and I'm curious to hear if anyone else has had similar experiences or any tips for managing them. Let's discuss how this medication is working for others, any side effects experienced, and how you manage them,

I'm in my third month and I've had bouts of diarrhea and upset stomach. I've started taking my medication with food and it has helped a bit. The worst part is the fatigue and feeling weak; I've had to be careful about overdoing it, but it's worth it to keep the CMV at bay. Stay strong, everyone! I think we must all remember that it's a journey

I wish my doc had warned me about these side effects. But I think it's important for everyone to know that if you experience any of the urgent side effects, don't mess around. Get to a doctor right away.

If anyone is dealing with low blood cell counts, just stay in constant communication with your doctor. They'll monitor your counts and adjust your treatment as needed. It took some time, but I'm feeling a lot better now.

What side effects are you all experiencing? I'm only on my second week and I felt a bit like I had the flu.

I was really nervous about starting Prevymis, but so far, I've only had some mild stomach discomfort and a bit of a headache. I've heard that many people don't notice much from it at all, though. The upside is that it's making a real difference in keeping my CMV in check. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you all. Fingers crossed!

I'm actually curious about the long-term effects. Anyone know if there's any research on that?

I had a rough first week with coughing and vomiting but it's gotten better since. Stick with it, Prevymis warriors. We got this!

Just started Prevymis yesterday and I already feel like a zombie. Hoping this side passes soon! Either way, it's worth it to prevent CMV comeback.

My doctor warned me about the more serious side effects, like allergic reactions and changes in urine output. He said to watch out for any signs of an allergic reaction, because those can be really dangerous. The first few days, I was hypervigilant about any changes in my body, but I've settled into a routine. I check in with my doc regularly and he's been great about making sure I'm in the clear.
