I recently started using Cortisporin-Tc Otic Suspension (ear drops) to treat an ear infection. The doctor prescribed it to help with the swelling and infection. However, I've been experiencing some side effects and have other questions. The drops contain a mix of antibiotics and a steroid, which I know can help with swelling and itching. It also contains a wetting agent to spread the medicine effectively. This seems to work as the infection starts to clear but the side effects are concerning. Has anyone had any issues with this medication? I'm curious to know if others are having similar issues and what steps they took to manage side-effects. I'm also looking for advice on whether to continue using it or to consult with my doctor to change my prescription.

Side effects can be tough. What kind of side effects are you experiencing? It might help to know if others have had similar issues.

I had to switch to a different medication because I experienced severe irritation and even some hearing loss. I had a few ear infections and tried to stick it out, but I would not recommend it for anyone who is experiencing anything more than a little discomfort. It was worth it to me to switch, I hope it feels the same for you.

My nephew's pediatrician said to make sure the bottle is warm before using it. It can reduce the pain and discomfort. It's worth a shot if you're experiencing discomfort. The drops can sting, my nephew really did not like the medication.

I've used Cortisporin-Tc before and didn't have any major issues. Just make sure you're following the instructions carefully and not using it for longer than prescribed. It's important to finish the full course, even if you feel better.

If you're experiencing hearing loss, stop using it immediately and call your doctor. That's a serious side effect and needs to be addressed right away.

I did not have good experiences with this. It was prescribed to me for the same issue. It cleared up the infection, but the irritation it caused in the ear canal was not worth it. I switched to something else after days but the irritation and pain lasted for weeks. I think you should try something else and talk to your doctor.

I had trouble with this for my kid's infected ear, too. Mine had a rash and irritation. What is the best course of action if experience irritation?

I had a similar experience with Cortisporin-Tc. It was recommended by my doctor for an ear infection, but I had a lot of irritation at the site where the drops were applied. Eventually, I had to stop using it and switch to a different medication. Make sure you consult your doctor about this and get their advice.
