Anyone else taking Lamictal ODT 50mg Tablets for Seizures and/or Bipolar Disorder? How's it going?
Hi all, I was recently prescribed Lamictal ODT 50mg Tablets for my bipolar disorder and seizures. I'm curious to hear from others who are taking this medication. How effective has it been for you? What side effects have you experienced? I noticed the side effects list is pretty long, so I'm a bit nervous. Let me know your experiences!

I've had a similar experience. I took it for a while and it helped with my seizures but it caused a rash and I had to stop. It's a bit of a trial and error process, so stick with it and talk to your doctor!
Did anyone have issues with weight gain? I've noticed I'm gaining a bit, and I'm not sure if it's from the meds or something else.
I had some weird side effects at first like drowsiness and fatigue. But after a month, they went away. I think the ODT version is way better than the regular pills. I just dissolve it in my mouth and I'm good to go.
Lamictal has been a game-changer for me. It took a bit to find the right dose, but now I'm on 50mg and it's been great. No major side effects, just some initial dizziness which went away. It's really helped stabilize my mood and reduce my seizures.
I'm on 100mg now and it's been helpful, but I did have some serious dizziness at the beginning. I wondered if I was going to have to stop taking them, but it went away after a few weeks.
Lamictal is a bit of a hassle. The ODTs are convenient but the side effects are no joke. Hang in there though—it's worth it if it helps with seizures and mood swings.
I switched from Lamictal to another medication because of the side effects. I had some really bad joint pain and swelling. Talk to your doctor if you experience any of the serious side effects—they're not fun.
The ODT version is so convenient. I hate swallowing pills, so this is a big plus for me. Just be careful when you first start—my doctor warned me about the Stevens-Johnson syndrome risk.
Be careful with the dosage. I started at 25mg and had no issues, but when I upped it to 50mg, I started getting some pretty bad headaches. Just something to keep in mind.
