Anyone else taking Warfarin Sod 1mg Tablets (pink) for blood clots? Let's share our experiences!
I've been on Warfarin for a few months now due to a recent DVT, and I'm curious to hear from others who are taking the same medication. How are you finding it? Have you had any side effects or major issues? I'm trying to stay positive, but it's a bit scary to think about the potential serious side effects. I'm pretty religious about my INR tests too. Thanks for any advice or shared experiences!

I had a really bad experience with Warfarin. The side effects were horrible. Also, the regular blood tests? Total pain. I switched to a different blood thinner and it's been great.
Show me an article on how to drink alcohol with blood thinners, my doctor didn't cover it. I'm tired of feeling like I'm missing out on life. I did have a beer or two last weekend, nothing happened
I had a really scary experience with Warfarin. I started noticing a lot of bruising and even bleeding from my gums. I had to go to the ER, but it all worked out. I'm just so much more careful now.
I've been on Warfarin for years due to AFib. It's a pain to manage, but it's so important to keep your INR at the right level. Make sure to avoid leafy greens because the Vitamin K in them can interfere with the medication.
I had no idea that kidney problems could be a side effect. I need to talk to my doctor about this. I've been off and on with my testing because I've had a lot of things going on in my life, but I'll tell my doc we need to be more vigilant.
It's so important to be open with your doctor about any concerns or side effects you experience. You're not alone in this! Also, diet is a huge factor, read up on it! I'm on day 20 and even I know that. You've got this! If you're eating foods high in vitamin K just make sure you are consistent with it.
I find it so annoying that I have to avoid leafy greens. I love my salads and spinach! But hey, at least it's not as bad as some other meds I've heard about.
I just started Warfarin last week. This thread is so helpful, thank you!
I've been on Warfarin for about a year. At first it was difficult to manage, but with regular blood tests and monitoring, I've got it down to a science. I always joke that my blood is like a well-oiled machine, I am so used to it being taken out and tested! Poking my arm with the butterfly needles is no big deal! I still have bruises and cuts but I get those even without the meds.
I like to remind people that Warfarin doesn't actually thin your blood, but rather it just takes longer to clot. I just always ignored that detail. Just make sure you are careful cutting vegetables and whatnot. Don't worry about the small things, just keep living your life.
