I've been diagnosed with Cutaneous T-cell Lymphoma (CTCL) and my doctor prescribed Targretin 1% Gel 60gm. I've read the leaflet and know about the side effects but I'm curious about real-life experiences. How effective is it? What side effects did you experience? How long did it take to see results? Any tips on application or managing side effects would be greatly appreciated. I'm hoping to hear from anyone who has used this treatment. Thank you!

Hard agree. Just be consistent with it. I had to remind myself every day to use it because it was such a pain. But seriously, it made a huge difference over a few months. I was surprised how much my lesions were improved.

This stuff smells awful. Like, really awful. I had to keep my bedroom window open for months. But the smell was worth it. Other than that, I didn't have any major side effects.

Yep, I tried it too. My skin felt like it was on fire for the first week but it got better. Plus some painful urination. Keep an eye on that. Someone mentioned it was due to my infection, but I did not have any signs of infections. I guess it has something to do with irritation.

I had a similar experience with the burning sensation. For me, it was more like a hot flash that would come and go. It was really uncomfortable at first, but it did get better over time. Just be prepared for some discomfort in the beginning. And yeah, definitely call your doctor if you have any of the more serious side effects like allergic reactions or infections

I've been using Targretin for about 3 months now. It's definitely helped with my skin lesions, but the side effects were rough at first. I experienced a lot of itching and redness, but my doctor advised me to use a gentle moisturizer and it helped a lot. Stick with it, the benefits are worth it.

I applied Targretin as directed. My doctor recommended applying a thin layer to the affected areas once a day. Heard from a nurse that some doctors recommend applying it twice a day, but I didn't really have any benefit from doing that so I just stuck to the once a day routine. It's also important to avoid getting the gel on your eyes, nose, or mouth. Just keep it on the affected area.

I wish I could upvote that more than once. My doc also recommended applying it once a day. I also experienced the burning sensation, but it went away after a couple of weeks. Just give yourself some time to adjust to it.

Not sure if this is true for everyone, but I felt more tired than usual while using Targretin. It wasn't so bad that I had to stop using it, but it was noticeable. I just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else experiences the same thing.

I've heard mixed things about Targretin. Some people say it's a miracle drug, others say it's the worst thing they've ever used. Has anyone tried any other treatments for CTCL?
