Anyone else using Budesonide 2mg/act Rectal Foam for ulcerative colitis?
I was recently prescribed Budesonide 2mg/act Rectal Foam for my mild to moderate ulcerative colitis. I've been using it for about a week now, and I'm curious to hear from others who have experience with it. How effective has it been for you? Have you noticed any side effects? Trying to decide between this and another drug. What's the difference between this and the rest of the steroid family? What makes it more efficacious?
Be careful with the dosage. I accidentally used too much at first and ended up with some pretty bad side effects. Stick to what your doctor prescribes.
I wish I had known about this sooner. Switching from oral steroids has been a relief. My doctor said it's because this targets the inflammation directly in the colon instead of affecting my whole body.

I've had some weird skin changes, like pimples and stretch marks. It's annoying, but I guess it's better than the alternative.
