My pediatrician prescribed Cefzil for my child's ear infection, and it has been a nightmare. The kid has had diarrhea for days. This is the first time we've used this antibiotic, and I was shocked with the side effects. I have read CDAD is rare, but still scary. Is this common? Is my kid going to be okay? I have called the doctor, but haven't heard back yet. Anyone who has been through this, please share your experience.

I've been on many antibiotics and never had issues. Definitely talk to your doctor ASAP. This sounds intense. Hope your kid gets better soon.

Did your doctor mention the possibility of this side effect? I had no clue this could happen. After reading this, I'm so glad I read labels carefully.

My doctor warned me about the possibility of diarrhea, but not CDAD. We gave our kid probiotics and it helped a lot. I think it's worth a shot, but talk to your doctor first.

Mine was fine on Cefzil. But it's all about the side effects. I have no advice, man, I'm so sorry.

Diarrhea is common. Not as bad, but an issue. But CDAD is rare - don't panic and don't worry if you see it go away. Your doctor will have the best advice for you. Hope that helps.

Oh no! Our pediatrician is out of town. I needed a second opinion and it took hours to get through to our clinic.

I've never heard of this before. That's scary as a parent. Hope your kid feels better!

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. My kid had CDAD and it was rough. Please keep an eye out for severe stomach pain, fever, or bloody stool. If you see those, go to the ER! Good luck.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. My kid had an allergic reaction to this antibiotic. I hope it's just diarrhea and not an allergic reaction, but keep an eye out for hives, swelling, or trouble breathing. That would be an ER visit.
