I was prescribed Risedronate Sodium 35mg for osteoporosis, and while I know it's supposed to help with bone density, I'm really worried about the potential side effects. The list seems pretty long and scary. Has anyone else taken this and experienced any of the serious side effects mentioned? What should I do if I have to take this medication long-term? I need some real-life advice as I've only received medical advice and that's not enough.

Make sure you're getting enough calcium and vitamin D while you're on this medication. It can help reduce the risk of some of the side effects, like muscle cramps and bone pain. Plus, it's just good for your bones in general!

The jaw problems are a real concern. I've read that it's more common in people who have had dental work or certain other medical conditions. Might be worth discussing alternatives with your doctor if that's a risk for you.

I had a friend who took this and ended up with severe jaw pain. She had to stop taking it and switch to a different medication. It's definitely something to be aware of, especially if you have any dental issues or are planning dental work. Better safe than sorry.

I've been on Risedronate for a while and haven't had any major issues, just some mild stomach upset occasionally. I've learned to take it with plenty of water and stay upright for a bit afterward, and that seems to help.
