I was recently prescribed Ibutilide (Corvert 1mg/10ml Inj) to manage my atrial fibrillation. The medication is given via injection and works by affecting the electrical signals in the heart. Be prepared for the EKG monitoring—it's intense but necessary. I had a friend who had a bit of a scare with chest pain, but the doctors caught it early and managed it quickly.
I had a bad experience with it. The chest pain was so severe I thought I was having a heart attack. Turns out it was just a side effect, but it was still terrifying. Everyone should be prepared if you do get the side effects.
A friend of mine said the IV was the worst part. It didn't hurt, but it was just so uncomfortable and she was really grateful to be under close supervision.
Serious question: does anyone know if the side effects can be managed with other medications afterward? Like, can you take something to counteract the dizziness or fast heartbeat?

This is a tough one. My dad had to take Ibutilide, and while it worked, the side effects were rough. He had a lot of dizziness and felt really faint afterwards. The doctors had to keep a close eye on him for a few hours. Definitely have someone with you if possible.
