I'm scheduled for an MRI with contrast soon and my doctor recommended Gadavist. I'm a bit nervous about the side effects, especially the serious ones. Has anyone had experience with this? How did it go? Did you have any side effects? I know the serious ones are rare, but it's still scary. Any tips or advice would be appreciated! Also, I've heard about something called NSF (Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis) related to these contrast agents. Is that something I should be worried about? I have no known kidney issues.

NSF is rare and usually only happens in people with severe kidney problems. Since you don't have any known issues, I wouldn't worry too much about it. But definitely discuss with your doctor. They might do a blood test to check your kidney function before the MRI.

I had a horrible reaction to Gadavist. I broke out in hives and had trouble breathing. I ended up in the ER. Luckily, they caught it in time. If you start feeling any of those symptoms, tell someone immediately.

I've had Gadavist before and it was fine. No side effects at all. Just felt a bit warm when they injected it.

I had Gadavist last year and felt a bit dizzy afterward, but it went away quickly.

Gadavist is generally safe, but the serious side effects can be scary. Make sure to stay hydrated before and after the scan. It helps your body process the contrast agent faster.

I had a bit of swelling at the injection site, but it went down after a few hours. Just monitor any immediate reactions after the injection.

I had a weird taste in my mouth after the injection. It was unsettling, but otherwise, I was fine.
