I've been prescribed Chlorpromazine 25mg/ml Sdv Inj, 2ml for intractable hiccups and severe nausea and vomiting. I've heard it's effective but also has some scary side effects. Has anyone else taken this? What was your experience like? How did you manage any side effects?

My dad used this for hiccups a couple of times. The hiccups stopped fast, but he sweated like crazy. Never forget his face red as a tomato!

I was on this for a while. Very effective but make sure you stay hydrated. Dry mouth was a real issue. Also, I noticed some hormonal changes, but it might be different for everyone.

Chlorpromazine saved my life during a severe bout of nausea and vomiting. I had no idea it could treat that. Made me wonder if it helps with other conditions. I had to manage restlessnes through deep breathing exercises.

I felt a lot of dizziness when I first started. It got better over time, but it was scary at first.

I had mood swings and hormonal changes. Suddenly, my breasts were sore and I had nipple discharge. Not cool. My doctor switched me to something else quickly.

Be careful with side effects. I had severe restlessness and muscle weakness. Drove me crazy. Talk to your doctor about alternatives if you experience that.

Didn't have any side effects but then again I was only on it for a week.

I've used Chlorpromazine for schizophrenia and nausea. It worked well for me, but the drowsiness was intense at first. Had to take it at night for a few weeks.

I thought Chlorpromazine was only for mental disorders? Interesting to hear it can help with physical symptoms too.

I’ve had really good results with it for nausea, but the side effects were tough. My doctor recommended drinking lots of water and keeping an eye out for any signs of allergy. I wish I’d known about Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome before then.
