I'm scheduled for a cystogram soon and my doctor mentioned they'll be using Cystografin 30% Inj, 300ml. I've never had this procedure before and I'm a bit nervous. The doctor explained that it's a contrast agent that helps them see my bladder and urinary tract better. I want to know how other people felt before and after the procedure, or what to expect during it. I would also like to know about the possible side effects. How long does the contrast fluid stay in your body? Is it super painful or uncomfortable? An clear answers with any personal experiences would be helpful — thanks in advance!

I just had mine last week and it was a little uncomfortable, but not as bad as I thought. I was worried about the catheter and bladder irritation, but it was all very manageable. The worst part was having to wait afterwards but I was fine. It was all worth it for the peace of mind. If you need more info, feel free to ask. You got this!.

I had this procedure and it was a piece of cake. The catheter was a bit annoying, but the actual injection of Cystografin was no big deal. I had zero side effects and was back to normal the same day. No big deal.

I had this procedure done last year and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The worst part was the catheter, but the actual injection of Cystografin wasn't too uncomfortable. I did feel a bit of bladder irritation afterwards, but it went away after a day.

The doctor would have told you if you were at risk for seizures due to the Cystografin, but it's good to know that it can happen. Just follow the doctor’s instructions and you should be fine. It’s super common and nothing to worry about. Don't stress more than you need to.
