Anyone have experience with Diclofenac Epolamine 1.3% Topical Patches for muscle aches and sprains?
I've been dealing with some pretty intense muscle aches and a recent sprain from a hiking adventure. My doctor recommended the Diclofenac Epolamine 1.3% Topical Patch to help with the pain and swelling. I applied my first patch yesterday and am hoping to get some feedback from others who've used this. Does it really help with the pain and swelling? How long does it take to see results? Also, are there any specific things to watch out for in terms of side effects? And finally, if the Diclofenac Epolamine 1.3% Topical Patch is similar to a topical diclofenac gel or is there a significant difference?

These patches are a lifesaver for my back spasms and sprains post-workout. I usually switch them up with a topical ibuprofen. But yeah, don't leave them on too long, like the other guy said. If you’re allergic to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) you shouldn’t use them. So, if you’re allergic to Advil or Ibuprofen, you’re probably allergic to this stuff, too.
I've used these patches for a few weeks now, and they've been a game-changer for my chronic pain issues. You can feel the relief start within an hour of applying the patch. Just be careful with the skin reactions. I had a small rash that went away on its own, but it was a little worrying at first.
Diclofenac gel works great on my knees, but I haven't tried the patches. I'll give them a shot next time. Just don't apply them to broken skin! If you have any questions about these patches, ask your pharmacist. They're supposed to know what they're doing.
I’ve found that topical patches can be a bit hit-or-miss. Personally, I had the opposite experience. My doctor warned me about the side effects, but I never experienced them. Instead, I found the patches to be very effective. Thanks doctor!
I didn’t know these existed. I'm always up for trying a new patch.
I had a bad reaction to these patches! I experienced severe itching and redness where the patch was applied. Had to go to the ER because it looked like I had a bad burn. It was scary, so I'd recommend caution.
