Anyone have experience with Duramorph 1mg/ml Inj, 10ml? Opioids work differently for everyone and this is scary stuff.
My doctor recently prescribed Duramorph 1mg/ml Inj, 10ml for managing severe pain from my recent surgery. If you're feeling nervous, maybe try some holistic methods to supplement your pain management. I’ve heard things like acupuncture and physical therapy can be really helpful. Definitely talk to your doctor about it, though.
I've had a really difficult time with opioids in general, and Duramorph was no exception. I ended up switching to a different class of pain medication that worked better for me. It's worth exploring other options if you find the side effects too difficult to manage.
I was on Duramorph for a short period, and the constipation was unreal. I had to take stool softeners daily. I switched to a different opioid that had less constipation as a side effect. Also, make sure you stay away from alcohol while on this, it’s a no-go. The combination can be lethal. I learned this the hard way.
I had a friend who got into severe trouble for mixing this with other drugs. Serotonin syndrome is a real thing and it’s nasty. Be careful and don’t take this lightly. I know it’s scary but if it’s prescribed by your doctor follow the directions.
Opioids are a necessary evil for some of us. just make sure you're taking them exactly as prescribed and that you have a good support system in place. And for the love of god, do NOT mix them with anything else without consulting your doctor first. Some of those side effects listed are from people mixing meds.
Has anyone else noticed that the side effects seem to get worse as you stay on the medication longer? I felt fine at first, but after a few weeks, the dizziness and fatigue really started to kick in.
I had a bad reaction to this drug. I experienced really severe dizziness and had to go to the ER. Every body is different and it's really important to listen to your body.
I had a similar experience with Duramorph. The worst part was the drowsiness—it was so bad that I couldn't even stay awake for my favorite shows. I had to switch to a different opioid that had less of a sedating effect. I know the side effects can be scary, but it's important to monitor how your body reacts and talk to your doctor about any concerns.
