I've recently been prescribed Fragmin 7500iu/0.3ml Inj 0.3ml (Dalteparin) to prevent blood clots. This is my first time on a blood thinner, and I'm nervous about the injection process and potential side effects. Has anyone else used this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, especially any tips for dealing with the injections and managing side effects. Also, how do you handle the fact that these can cause bleeding if you cut yourself? Is it worth the risk?

I've read about the urgent side effects, and it's a bit scary. I'm particularly worried about the signs of allergic reactions and bleeding. Any insights or reassurances would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Anyone know if there are other blood thinners out there? Maybe something with less severe side effects?

Fragmin saved my life after a surgery. I had a blood clot in my lung and I would have died if I hadn't taken it. The side effects are rough, but it can be a lifesaver.

I had a really bad allergic reaction to it. I got hives and my whole body felt like it was on fire. I had to go to the ER. Be careful and make sure you know the signs.

Don't worry, you'll get used to the injections. I found that using a heating pad on the injection site for a few minutes before injecting made it less painful. And remember, the risk of blood clots can be much worse than any side effects from Fragmin so it's ok to feel nervous, but be glad you are on the medication

I've been using Fragmin 7500iu/0.3ml Inj 0.3ml for a while now, and I've had no major issues. Make sure you know how to give yourself the injections properly. It makes a big difference. I got a nurse practitioner to show me how to do it. As for the side effects, I've mostly just had some irritation at the injection site, nothing too bad.
