I've been prescribed Levofloxacin 25mg/ml Injection for a severe bacterial infection. The potential side effects list is terrifying, and I'm on edge about starting this treatment. Has anyone had positive experiences with this? I'm particularly concerned about the heart and kidney issues, and diarrhea and would love some reassurance if anyone has been through this. I've read through the information and am eager to get more insights and personal stories from those who have used it. So thankful for this community of support. I have never been prescribed an antibiotic like this before, and it’s important to me to be proactive and informed. If you think this is not the right place for this question, let me know.

My mom had Levofloxacin for a skin infection, and she was worried about the same things. She ended up having some stomach upset, but nothing too bad. I would recommend taking it with food and keeping hydrated to see if that helps.

I would ask your doctor about the allergic reactions and kidney issues. How important is it that you take Levofloxacin? Nothing is worth risking a bad side effect.

I had a bad reaction to it. Severe diarrhea and some confusion. Had to get an IV drip at the hospital. I’d suggest asking your doctor about alternatives or at least be prepared to stop it if you start feeling bad. I had a similar experience as you with the potential symptoms and got panicked. Get someone to talk to you about the risks and benefits, and make your choices based on that. It might slow down your recovery but there’s nothing wrong with that.

Levofloxacin is a strong antibiotic. I used it for a bad case of pneumonia. I felt better within a few days, but I did get some weird skin reactions. That said, it worked fast and I was glad I took it. It’s important to drink lots of water and stay hydrated says my doctor. Let us know how it goes!

I had a friend who had a terrible time with Levofloxacin. Don’t ignore the warnings. Definitely talk to your doctor and get a second opinion if you’re feeling uneasy. If you notice any of the symptoms it could be bad.

I was on Levofloxacin for a UTI and my friend for pneumonia. She had the same reaction and ended up switching to a stronger antibiotic. She said she had the same questions about side effects and went to a different doctor. She had the same side effects as you listed and ended up feeling better quickly.
