Anyone have experience with Lidocaine 1% Inj, 2ml? What are the potential side effects?
I'm scheduled for a minor procedure where the doctor will use Lidocaine 1% Inj, 2ml for local anesthesia. I've read about the potential side effects, but I'd love to hear from people who have actually used this. What were your experiences like? Were there any side effects? If so, how severe were they, and how long did they last? Also, any tips on how to minimize the risk of side effects would be appreciated! My doctor didn't mention much about the rare but serious side effects, so I'm hoping to get some firsthand insights.

Be careful with this stuff. My friend had a bad reaction—all swollen and itchy. Had to go to the ER. Not fun.
I'm a nurse and I've seen people react badly to Lidocaine. Always good to have someone monitor you for a bit after the procedure.
I got a Metallic taste in my mouth after using Lidocaine, but it went away after a few hours. Weird, but not terrible.
Do they really warn you about erectile dysfunction? That's a bit intense for a local anesthetic, no?
I've had Lidocaine a few times for dental work. Never had any issues, but I did feel a bit dizzy afterward. Just took it easy for the rest of the day.
I had a procedure with Lidocaine and felt like I was floating for a bit. Kind of trippy, but harmless.
If you feel any severe side effects, don't hesitate to go to the ER. Better safe than sorry.
Had Lidocaine for a minor surgery—no issues at all. Just a bit of numbness that wore off eventually.
Lidocaine is generally safe, but those rare side effects are no joke. Make sure your doctor is aware of any allergies you have.
I've had spinal injections with Lidocaine. The biggest issue was temporary loss of bladder control. Not pleasant, but temporary.
