I've been prescribed Morphine Sulf 100mg ER Caps (24h) for managing severe, ongoing pain. I'm curious to hear from others who have experience with this medication. How do you handle the side effects, especially the constipation and drowsiness? I'm also interested in knowing if anyone has advice on managing the extended-release aspect, since taking it once a day seems different from other pain meds I've taken. What are your tips for integrating this into a daily routine?

Do you have any advice for when you have to take a break or miss a dose? I'm worried about how to manage that when it happens.

I've found that using a pill organizer helps. I set it up at the beginning of the week and it takes one less thing off my mind. Plus, it ensures you're taking it on time.

I wish they had told me how bad the constipation could be. I ended up in the ER because I didn't realize how severe it could get. But yeah, the extended-release part is great. I only have to think about it once a day, which is a huge relief.

Anyone else notice a difference in how effective it is over time? I feel like it's not working as well as it used to.

If you can, try to stick to a routine. Take it at the same time every day and don't deviate from that. It helps keep things stable. Also, regular check-ins with your doctor are crucial. They can adjust your dose if needed and monitor for any adverse effects.

Be careful with this stuff. It's a powerful opioid and can be addictive. Make sure you're taking it exactly as prescribed and don't stop taking it without talking to your doctor first.

I've been on these for a few months now. The constipation is tough, but I've found that increasing my fiber intake and staying hydrated helps a lot. Also, talk to your doctor about a stool softener if it gets really bad. As for drowsiness, it's a bit of a learning curve but you get used to it. I take it at night so it's not as disruptive.

I had to switch to a different painkiller because of the side effects. It was just too much for me. I think everyone's different though, so maybe you'll have a better experience.
