I've been prescribed Polocaine 2% 1000mg/50ml Inj, 50ml for an upcoming dental procedure. The pharmacist listed a bunch of side effects including rare but serious ones. Has anyone had experience with this medication? How did you handle any side effects that came up?

I've seen some pretty grim side effects listed, but honestly, I had none of the serious ones. Just some lightheadedness. Make sure to let your dentist know if you feel anything out of the ordinary.

I am having a dental procedure on Wednesday and I am dreading this. I have an extreme fear of needles and all of the serious side effects listed are scaring me.

I hear you on the light-headedness and the tingling. Also, be prepared for a bit of a headache. It can be pretty intense, but it goes away quickly.

Side effects vary from person to person. For me, it was just a bit of numbness and a slight headache. The good news is that the pain during my dental procedure was nonexistent, so it was worth it.

I had this for a wisdom tooth extraction and felt really weird for a few hours. The dentist said it was just the way the drug affected my metabolism. Weird but true.

I had this for a dental procedure last year. The numbing worked great, but I did experience some temporary numbness in my mouth and a metallic taste. Nothing too bad, though.

I've had this before and it caused me to feel extremely lightheaded and dizzy. Make sure you have someone to drive you home if you're having a procedure done.
