Anyone Have Experience with Sterapred 5mg Tab (unipak) 21's?
I've recently been prescribed Sterapred 5mg tablets for my asthma flare-ups. These are prednisone pills used to reduce inflammation and calm down an overactive immune system. I've been reading about the side effects, and while most seem manageable, I’m a bit worried about some of the more serious ones like the allergy reactions, infections and high blood sugar. Has anyone else been on this medication? What were your experiences? Any tips on managing the side effects would be greatly appreciated!

It's definitely worth it for the relief it brings. Just be mindful of the side effects and keep your doctor in the loop. Make sure you take it in the morning!
I’ve been on prednisone for a while now for my arthritis, and honestly, it’s been a game-changer. It can be a bit rough on the body, but the relief from inflammation is worth it. Just make sure to take it as prescribed and monitor your blood sugar levels closely! My doctor also recommended taking it in the morning to avoid sleep disturbances.
I've had terrible experiences with this med. It gave me the worst mood swings and made me so anxious. It's awful. But my doctor said it was worth it for the inflammation to calm down. I wish I could have just had no side effects. I'll have to find another med.
Mano, I would take it for my skin condition. My face was really irritated, and this was the only relief I could get. The weight gain hurt but it was worth it to have my skin calm down.
I had this stuff for a skin condition few years back. Mood swings were horrible. I could do without this drug honestly.
I was on Sterapred for a while for my allergies, and while it did help, the weight gain was brutal. I gained nearly 10 pounds in a couple of months. I had to watch my diet closely and work out more than usual to manage it.
I've never heard of prednisone causing mood swings. It seems the experience varies a lot from person to person.
