I've been prescribed Surmontil 100mg Capsules for my depression, and I'm feeling a bit anxious about starting a new medication. It's a tricyclic antidepressant, which I know can have some serious side effects, but I'm hoping the sedating effects will also help with my sleep issues. Has anyone else tried this? I think it's important to talk to your doctor regularly while on this. They can help you manage any side effects.
The sleep part was great, but it made me gain weight, which was pretty unfair. I guess you win some, you lose some.
I found it helpful for my depression, but I had to deal with a lot of constipation. Stool softeners became my best friend.
What about the serotonin syndrome? That sounds pretty scary. How do you know if you're experiencing it?
I had really bad mouth sores. My doctor had me switch to a different medication. Still, it was awful.
I switched to a different antidepressant after experiencing some pretty bad nightmares and confusion. It was scary.
I had a terrible reaction to it. I ended up with a bad rash and had to go to the ER. Be careful and keep an eye out for any allergic reactions.
