I've been prescribed Surmontil 100mg Capsules for my depression, and I'm feeling a bit anxious about starting a new medication. It's a tricyclic antidepressant, which I know can have some serious side effects, but I'm hoping the sedating effects will also help with my sleep issues. Has anyone else tried this? I'd love to hear about your experiences, good or bad. Also, any tips on managing potential side effects would be greatly appreciated. I'm a bit worried about the urgent side effects listed, so if anyone has had those or knows how to watch out for them, please share!

The sleep part was great, but it made me gain weight, which was pretty unfair. I guess you win some, you lose some.

I found it helpful for my depression, but I had to deal with a lot of constipation. Stool softeners became my best friend.

I had really bad mouth sores. My doctor had me switch to a different medication. Still, it was awful.

I had a terrible reaction to it. I ended up with a bad rash and had to go to the ER. Be careful and keep an eye out for any allergic reactions.
