I've been dealing with a nasty cold and my doctor prescribed Westussin DM 5-10-1mg Syrup. I've been reading about the side effects and I'm a bit concerned. Has anyone else taken this and can share their experience? Specifically, I'm worried about the potential for high blood pressure and allergic reactions. It sounds scary, but maybe it's rare? Thoughts?

I would be worried about the allergic reaction symptoms. Some of those sound serious. I'd rather deal with a stuffy nose than a swollen tongue. Anyone else feel the same way?

The leaflet is really confusing about the dosages. Do you need to take them all together?

I've been taking it for a week now. Helped my common cold and allergic reactions a lot. I've been taking it for a week now. Helped my common cold and allergic reactions a lot. No issues so far. The drowsiness is real, but I use it before bed and sleep well!

I got high blood pressure from Westussin DM. It was worrying. Everything was blurry, my head throbbed, and I felt like I was spinning. I got scared and had to leave work. Not something I would want to repeat anytime soon. I dunno if it was a fluke but I never touched it again.

I took it once and it knocked me out cold. Literally. Fell asleep at 2pm and woke up at 6am. But it did help with my cough.

I had an allergic reaction to a different medication and I'm always a little worried. I think you should check with your doctor before starting any new meds.
