Hey all, I was prescribed Betaxolol 20mg for high blood pressure and my heart rate is through the roof! It's supposed to lower my heart rate not increase it! I've been on it for a week now and I’m experiencing side effects like dizziness and fatigue. I’m starting to worry if it’s safe to continue. Has anyone else had similar experiences? It seems like the side effects are really getting to me. Should I stick it out and hope it gets better or switch meds?

I've been on Betaxolol for a few months and it's been a game-changer for my blood pressure. But I did have somejoint pain at first. My doctor told me it should go away in a few weeks, and it did. You might want to talk to your doc about switching or adjusting the dose.

I had no issues with Betaxolol. Maybe it's just not the right fit for you.

Betaxolol is supposed to help, not make things worse. If your heart rate is increasing, something is off. Definitely consult your doctor ASAP.

Side effects can vary a lot from person to person. I've seen people have trouble sleeping while others have no issues. I would definitely talk to your doctor about it, especially if it's making your heart rate go even higher.

Maybe it’s just your body adjusting to the new medication. Give it a bit more time and see if the side effects improve. If not, definitely switch meds. Your health comes first!
