I just started taking Pitavastatin 2mg Tablets to manage my high cholesterol. I'm a bit worried about the side effects, especially the more serious ones. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I want to hear about both the good and the bad. What should I expect in the first few weeks, and how can I best support my body through this? It's always a bit nerve-wracking to start a new medication, but I'm hoping it will be worth it in the long run.

I think it's important to remember that while serious side effects are rare, they can happen. Always better to be safe and aware.

I just want to add that my cholesterol levels have dropped significantly. It's worth the minimal discomfort for me. Keep in touch with your healthcare provider.

I've had no side effects at all. The only thing to worry about is what they say.

I stopped taking it because I experienced some muscle pain and weakness. It was scary, but I'm glad I listened to my body and consulted my doctor. Definitely keep an eye out for those symptoms, especially if you're older or have kidney issues.

Be prepared for some stomach issues at first. I had diarrhea for the first week, but it went away. Also, keep an eye on your liver function if you have a history of liver problems. It's always better to be safe with these meds.

I don't understand why there are so many side effects listed. I've had good results with it.

I've been on Pitavastatin for about 6 months now and it's been great for my cholesterol levels. I haven't had any serious side effects, just a bit of back pain occasionally, my doctor assured me it wasn't anything to worry about.

How often do you have to take it? Daily?

I'm on my second month and feeling good so far. Just remember to stay hydrated and monitor your urine output, just in case. The odd side effect is normal, but severe ones require immediate medical help.

My doc recommends getting your liver tested once a year too, just a heads up. It's a precautionary measure, but worth it.
