I was recently prescribed Verapamil 80mg Tablets to help manage my high blood pressure and chest pain. I've read about the potential side effects like dizziness, constipation, and even more serious ones like liver problems or abnormal heart rhythms. Has anyone else taken this medication? If so, what were your experiences, particularly with side effects? Were they mild or severe? Did they go away over time or did you have to discontinue use? Any advice for managing side effects would be greatly appreciated. I'm also curious about how this medication interacts with other medications or dietary restrictions. Any insights would be helpful!

Dizziness and constipation would be annoying but manageable. But the severe side effects really scare me. I'd rather deal with high blood pressure and chest pain before trying this medication. Especially since I have a history of liver issues. I'll talk to my doc about other options.

This kind of medication can cause a slight drop in blood pressure. It can be dangerous if you get up too fast after sitting or laying down, so definitely be careful. Also, it can interact with grapefruit juice, so steer clear of that stuff if you can.

Dude, I took Verapamil for my irregular heartbeat and it was a game-changer. No more chest pains, but I did get a bit constipated. I switched to a higher fibre diet and it got better. Not sure if it was the meds or the diet, but I'm feeling good.

I'm only on a low dose, 40mg, and I haven't noticed any issues. But this thread has me worried. Are the 80mg tablets really that different?

I took Verapamil for a few months and experienced some dizziness initially. It was manageable, but I had to be careful when getting up from a sitting position. My doctor suggested standing up slowly to avoid dizziness. It didn't last long, and I got used to it after a while. I didn't experience any severe side effects, though. I also noticed some constipation. I started taking a fibre supplement and thought that it helped mitigate it.

I had to stop using it because it made me feel so tired all the time. My doctor said that happens to some people but I think I'll stick with my beta blockers instead.

I've taken this medication for years, and it's been a lifesaver—literally. It's kept my blood pressure in check, and I've never had any serious side effects. I've had a few bouts of dizziness, but that's easily managed. I've never had constipation, but I eat a lot of fibre and drink plenty of water. As for severe side effects, I think they're rare, but you should always be vigilant. I'd rather take this than deal with the symptoms of high blood pressure.

I've been taking these for a while and still get shocked by the side effects. I'd say the constipation is the worst, but the dizziness is a close second. I find myself sitting a bit longer when I stand up, to give my body time to adjust but it's honestly not a big deal.
