Anyone tried Amox-Clav XR 1000/62.5mg Tablets for sinus infection? How was your experience?
I've been prescribed Amox-Clav XR 1000/62.5mg Tablets for a stubborn sinus infection. The doctor said it's a strong antibiotic that should do the trick. I've read about some serious side effects, though, so I'm a bit nervous. Has anyone else taken this medication? I'd love to hear about your experiences, both good and bad. Did it work well for you? I'm a doctor and I want to clarify that while side effects can be scary, they are rare. Most people tolerate it well. Just follow your doctor's instructions and you should be fine.
Be careful, I had a terrible reaction to this stuff. Vaginal irritation and rashes, it was awful. Had to go to the ER.
I wish my doctor had told me about the risk of C. diff. I had no idea and ended up in the hospital with severe diarrhea. Be careful and stay hydrated!
My kid got diarrhea from this med too. It's horrible how quickly it can turn from mild to life threatening. Also, some docs will tell you to take a probiotic after but it doesn't help in most cases.
I had to stop taking it because of severe diarrhea. Turns out it was due to C. diff. Scary stuff. I'd suggest keeping an eye on your symptoms and talking to your doctor if anything feels off.
I wish they'd warn you about the diarrhoea more before they prescribe this. Had to run to the bathroom several times a day. Not fun.
Amox-Clav XR helped me get rid of my sinus infection, but I had a lot of stomach issues. I had to take Pepto-Bismol to deal with it.
I got hives from this med and had to go to the ER. I was taking it for a sinus infection, but it wasn't worth the risk of a severe allergic reaction.
I took these for pneumonia last year and they worked like a charm! No serious side effects for me, just some mild stomach upset. Make sure to take it with food.
I've had it prescribed twice and both times it worked well and I had no side effects. I think it's really overprescribed, but it does work for me.
