I've been dealing with a nasty cough and chest congestion for the past week due to the flu. My doctor prescribed Sorbugen Nr Liquid, which combines Guaifenesin and Dextromethorphan. Has anyone else used this and if so, how did it work for you? I want to know the good and the bad. Do you think its worth it over other over-the-counter alternatives?

I found that my cough got worse before it got better. A couple of the nights I took it I slept fine but it may have had a part in my morning cough. I might just switch to something like Robitussin instead.

I've used it a few times and it really helped with the coughing fits. Just make sure to follow the dosage instructions carefully.

What other meds did your doctor suggest? I was on a combo of Sudafed and Benadryl and it didn't seem like it was enough. I would ask about Robitussin DM if you do switch.

I was skeptical about trying it because of the side effects, but I followed the instructions carefully and I haven't had any issues. I've used similar products before but I think the Guaifenesin in this one really works better.

I'm really cautious about taking any medication for coughs and colds because of the side effects. I'd rather deal with the discomfort than risk something more serious. I always just try to drink a lot of fluids and rest. There's a fine line between feeling better and feeling worse.

I used Robitussin DM before but the taste was just too bitter. I think the liquid form of Sorbugen doesn't taste as bad as the Robitussin. You might need to try a couple of different methods to find out what works for you. I actually think Robitussin and Sorbugen work about the same. The price is the only real difference between them.
