I've been on Methotrexate for a few months now, and while it's been effective, the side effects have been brutal. My doctor prescribed Levoleucovorin 10mg/ml Inj, 17.5ml to help protect my healthy cells. It's given by injection into a vein, and I've been learning a lot about it. It's a type of vitamin (folate) that can also enhance the effectiveness of other cancer medicines like fluorouracil. Has anyone else used Levoleucovorin? What were the side effects? How did it help? I'd love to hear your experiences and any tips. This is extremely hard to navigate.

I can't believe how expensive this stuff is. I hope insurance covers most of it. Otherwise it will be very painful for me.

Has anyone else had issues with mouth sores? I'm getting them pretty bad, and it's making it hard to eat.

I'm currently taking Levoleucovorin and it has made a world of difference. My oncologist explained that it helps modulate the side effects of methotrexate, and I've noticed a significant reduction in nausea and overall weakness. If you have blood tests, keep an eye on the results; the Levoleucovorin might not cover all the negative effects so keep monitoring your folate level and other blood parameters.

I'm glad I found this thread. I just started Levoleucovorin and was feeling pretty alone. Thanks, everyone, for sharing your experiences. I hope I get to where you guys are soon.

I've been on Levoleucovorin for a while now, and honestly, it's a lifesaver. The side effects are minimal compared to the benefits. I've had a few bouts of diarrhea and some stomach pain, but nothing I can't handle. Definitely discuss any concerns with your doctor; they can help you monitor your blood work and symptoms.
