I've been prescribed Azithromycin 500mg Sdv Inj for a serious infection and I'm a bit nervous about the side effects. Has anyone here had experience with this IV antibiotic? I'm curious about both the effectiveness and the potential side effects, especially the more severe ones like liver problems or severe skin reactions. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I had this IV and I had some mild side effects. Nothing I couldn't handle but I will say the nausea was pretty bad.

Be prepared for the side effects. I had a bad reaction, but luckily the hospital staff caught it early. They transferred me to oral antibiotics and monitored my condition closely. It was scary, but I'm glad I was in a hospital setting.

I felt terrible for a few days but it cleared up the infection in no time. Just stay hydrated and take it easy.

Azithromycin is really effective against a lot of infections, but you've got to be careful. I had a friend who ended up with a severe skin reaction. It was horrible. Make sure your doctor knows if you have any allergies or sensitivities.

I had a bad reaction and ended up with a skin rash and a really upset stomach. I hope you get better soon.

I had to get this and I felt like crap the whole time but it killed the infection. Just make sure you're getting the right treatment and you'll be fine.

I had to get this for a bad case of pneumonia. It worked great, but I did have some nasty diarrhea. Docs said it was a common side effect. Just drink lots of fluids and you should be fine.

I'm a nurse and I've seen a few patients with liver issues from this drug. It's rare, but it happens. If you start feeling off, definitely go back to the hospital.

I got the same thing or something like it for pneumonia and I'm fine. It really works well for the infections it's intended for. Just be careful.
