I've been prescribed Niaspan 500mg ER Tablets to help improve my cholesterol levels. The doctor says it'll lower my 'bad' cholesterol (LDL and triglycerides) and raise my 'good' cholesterol (HDL). I've heard a bit about the side effects, especially the flushing, but I'm hoping to find out if there are ways to manage them. Has anyone else used this medication? What was your experience like? How did you deal with the side effects? Also, what can I do with the long term side effect? I want to make sure I'm doing everything right. Thanks for sharing your stories and advice. Let's talk and learn from each other. We'll take care of our health together.

Good luck with your treatment. I'm sure that you will experience some relief from the chlosterol levels, although I would just stick to taking it with food and spending time outside to help manage side effects.

Has anyone else experienced dizziness or fainting? I had to stop taking it because it was so severe. Maybe it's just me, but it's worth a mention. I understand that the medication can cause dizziness but it's out of control.

I've been on Niaspan for years, and it's been great for my cholesterol levels. I haven't had any major side effects, just some mild flushing. If you're worried, just take it slowly and see how you feel.

I had a really bad experience with this medication. I was taking it for a while until it triggered some serious liver issues. Had to stop immediately. Contact a doctor immediately if you experience any unusual symptoms.

I think it's worth a shot. My doctor recommended it, and I trust him. I've had some mild side effects, but nothing I can't handle. Just listen to your body and talk to your doctor if something doesn't feel right. You got this.
