Atarax 50mg Tablet: My Experience with Hydroxyzine for Anxiety and Itching
I was recently prescribed Atarax 50mg Tablets (Hydroxyzine) for anxiety and itching. The doctor explained that it works by affecting natural substances in the brain and body. I've been taking it for a few weeks now, and while it does help with anxiety, I've experienced some side effects like drowsiness. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I've heard it can also be used to help relax before or after surgery. Any thoughts on that? I'm curious to hear about other uses and side effects people might have encountered. Another thing I'm worried about is the rare but serious side effects. I'm not really sure what the signs to look for are. Does anyone know more about these? Has anyone had any serious reactions?

Serious question: how common is the allergic reaction with this medication? I'm a bit worried about the rash and swelling. If you develop a rash, can you take something else for the itching?
I've used Atarax for itching and it worked wonders. The drowsiness is a bit annoying, but it's worth it for the relief. Just be careful with driving or operating heavy machinery.
I've had some bad experiences with Atarax. I had difficulty controlling my body movements and it was just too dangerous to continue. I'd recommend talking to your doctor if you feel anything like that.
I wish my doctor would have warned me about the drowsiness. I feel like a zombie sometimes. But it does help with the anxiety, so I'll stick with it for now.
I was given Atarax before a surgery and it really helped me relax. No major side effects for me, just a bit of dry mouth.
