I was prescribed Atropine Sulf 1% Oph Soln 2ml eye drops for an eye exam, and I must say, the experience was a bit concerning. First of all, the side effects were not what I would expect, especially since I had all the typical ones and more. I'm looking for any advice or shared experiences out there. Has anyone else experienced any signs of allergic reactions or high blood pressure, like I did? And if so, how did you manage it? I want to hear your stories, or if you have a deep experience you want to share, I'm all ears.

Wow. I didn't know Atropine could cause such severe side effects. I've always been super cautious with eye drops, but this is a whole new level. I'd be ready in case of an anaphylactic reaction.

I've heard that dry mouth and dry eyes are common with Atropine, especially the first time you use it. Drink lots of water and keep eye drops handy.

When I started using Atropine, I noticed a lot of irritation in my eyes. I had a lot of blurred vision, too. Give it a few days, and it'll go away. You can also take a couple of antacids to help with the dry mouth.

I've had a similar experience with another med, and I remember the first few hours being pretty rough. Just make sure to have someone with you who can help if you need it. You can also report side effects to the FDA at 1-800-332-1088 or online at https://www.fda.gov/medwatch, for sure.

If you're experiencing high blood pressure or a fast heartbeat, that's a big deal. Definitely call your doctor. Don't mess around with stuff like that. Doctors can provide medical advice about side effects, so please report side effects to the FDA. I'd be cautious with that stuff.

When I had Atropine, My eye hurt like hell for a bit and was really irritated. Try not to think of it. It was just a few days. Also, I had someone drive me home after my appointment because it caused my vision to be incredibly blurry— it's no joke.

I had a friend who experienced serious side effects from Atropine. It could make you very dizzy and even faint. I'd always recommend staying in one place or laying down for a while after the first couple of uses.

This is all very concerning. I had no idea Atropine could cause such severe side effects. I wish this information was more widely known. Definitely don't wait too long to call your doctor or go to the hospital.

Dry mouth? That's normal. I remember it lasting a few days, then going away. Also, it made me feel really drowsy at first!
