I haven't given it to my child yet because of the scary side effects listed. Has anyone had to take their child to the hospital because of this stuff? It's scary to think about, but I want to be prepared. What signs should I look out for?
My son had a severe allergic reaction to a different antibiotic, so I was really anxious about giving him this. We had to go to the ER once for a different antibiotic allergy reaction. We had to talk to the pediatrician and we ended up trying a different antibiotic, but I know that for some, this has worked well. I just had to share just in case others are in the same boat.
I’m a nurse and I can tell you that while these side effects are scary, they are rare. Just keep a close eye on your child and if you see any of these signs, don't hesitate to go to the ER. Better safe than sorry. Pediatricians know best, so trust them, and you'll be fine. I hope.
I’ve had some really bad experiences on antibiotics in general. I'm just really nervous to start this with my kid do to side effects. Hoping for the best, but yeah, I'm not looking forward to any of the more serious ones listed. Fingers crossed, and thanks for sharing your experience!
I have to say, the side effects listed here are terrifying. I hope my kid doesn't experience any of them. I'd go crazy just imagining it. I've never given him antibiotics before, so this is new territory for us. Sorry, I'll probably be a chatterbox the whole time. It's better than worrying.
We just finished a round of this for our daughter's ear infection. She had some diarrhea, but nothing too bad. We just kept her hydrated and it passed quickly. The medication seemed to work well though, so overall, it was a good experience.
