I was prescribed Avapro 300mg (Irbesartan) a few months ago to manage my high blood pressure and protect my kidneys due to type 2 diabetes. The medication works by relaxing blood vessels, which helps lower blood pressure. I've noticed a significant improvement in my blood pressure readings, and my doctor is happy with my progress. However, I've experienced some mild dizziness, especially when standing up quickly. I've read that this is a common side effect, but I'm wondering if anyone else has found ways to mitigate it? I've also been a bit anxious about the more severe side effects, like signs of an allergic reaction or kidney problems. Has anyone had any of these serious side effects, and how did you handle them? It's scary to think about, but I know it's important to stay informed. I'm also curious about whether anyone has had to adjust their diet or supplements due to the potential for high potassium levels. I'm generally feeling good on this medication, but I'm always open to hearing other people's experiences.

I've been on Avapro for over a year now, and it's been a game-changer for my blood pressure. I did experience some dizziness at first, but it went away after a few weeks. I make sure to stand up slowly and stay hydrated, which helps a lot. As for the serious side effects, I haven't had any issues, but I keep a close eye on my symptoms just in case. My doctor also advised me to watch my potassium intake, so I avoid bananas and other high-potassium foods. I’m thankful for the medication. I’m curious how others deal with the dizziness even if its light.

I wish my doctor would have told me about the potassium levels earlier. I had to learn the hard way after feeling super weak. Just be careful with your diet, everyone!

I've had to cut back on my salt intake significantly since starting Avapro. It's been tough, but my blood pressure is much better controlled. I think it's worth the effort.

I started Avapro a few months ago and haven't had any major side effects. Just some mild dizziness, but it's manageable. I'm glad to hear others are doing well on it too! Keep up the good work, everyone!

I take Avapro too but experience a lot of lightheadedness. It's scary to stand up sometimes. I’ve had to change my habits so I don’t fall over. Does anyone know if this will go away or if I can do anything to stop it?

A friend of mine had to stop taking Avapro because of severe allergic reactions. It's important to be vigilant and report any unusual symptoms to your doctor immediately. I'm lucky not to have any issues, but it's always in the back of my mind.

I have been taking Avapro for about six months now, and it has been a lifesaver. My blood pressure has dropped significantly, and I feel much better overall. I was a bit worried about the potential side effects, especially the kidney problems and high potassium levels. I have had to adjust my diet slightly to avoid high-potassium foods, but it's a small price to pay for the benefits. I also make sure to stay hydrated and stand up slowly to avoid dizziness. I highly recommend discussing any concerns with your doctor; they can provide personalized advice and monitor your progress closely.

I was really scared when I first started Avapro, especially reading about the allergic reactions. But so far, so good! Just a bit of dizziness here and there.

I’ve been on Avapro for three years, and it’s made a huge difference in my kidney function. I don’t experience much dizziness, but it’s good to hear others’ experiences. Thanks for sharing!

Dizziness is so annoying. I’ve had to start using a cane when I go out, it's that bad. My doctor said it should get better over time. Hoping that's the case.
