Has anyone else experienced bad constipation while taking Ferrous Sulfate 324mg EC Tabs Red to treat iron deficiency anemia? I've been taking it for a month now, and I've noticed a lot of discomfort. I was wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks to help with this side effect? I've tried increasing my fiber intake and drinking more water, but it's still a struggle. I've also read that stool softeners or a daily magnesium supplement can help. Has anyone tried using a stool softener? How much magnesium should I be taking if I choose the magnesium supplement route? Thanks!

I know the struggle! I had to switch to a different brand of iron supplements that come in a liquid form. It helped me avoid the constipation issue. The liquid form is easier on your stomach, and the body can absorb it more efficiently.

I've been taking magnesium supplement oil. It helped me avoid the constipation issue, but I don't know how much magnesium is in the supplement. I took it for a few weeks, but it didn't affect my iron levels.

The constipation issue is frustrating, but remember that everyone is different. What works for one person might not work for another. Also, remember that it's essential to discuss any concerns with your doctor. Contact your doctor or seek medical help if you experience any of the side effects or if they bother you or persist.

What other side effects are you experiencing? I've been taking Ferrous Sulfate 324mg EC Tabs Red for a few weeks, and I've noticed that my stool color has changed to green. Is this normal?

I had the same issue, but my doctor suggested taking a stool softener daily. It worked for me, and I didn't have to deal with the constipation anymore. You might want to check with your doctor before trying any new supplements or medications.

Good luck with the constipation. What else is up?

I'd be careful about taking additional supplements without consulting your doctor first. It's great that you're being proactive, but some supplements can interfere with each other. Always do your research, and if anything seems off, talk to your healthcare provider.
