I recently started taking Azithromycin to treat a bacterial infection. The doctor prescribed Azithromycin 200mg/5ml Susp 30ml and said it would help with my issue. I've been on it for a few days now, and I'm experiencing some side effects. Mostly it's just a slight upset stomach, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences. The doctor mentioned some serious side effects to watch out for, so I'm a little worried but hopefully, it's just my body adjusting. They said diarrhea can occur, but how can I differentiate between normal diarrhea and the more serious C. diff-associated diarrhea? It seems it’s an antibiotic that fights bacteria, which is great, but I'm still not sure what to expect. I’ve read some scary things about liver problems and severe skin reactions, but are those common? Appreciate any insights or advice!

Just a heads up, liver problems can be serious. I know someone who had to be hospitalized because of this. If you notice any signs like yellow skin or eyes, dark urine, or severe stomach pain, get to a doctor ASAP.

I'm not a doctor, but I had a bad reaction to antibiotics once. If you feel something is wrong, trust your instincts and seek medical help. Better safe than sorry!

I think it's important to report any side effects to the FDA. Even if they seem minor, it helps them track patterns and improve safety.

I experienced some serious side effects while on Azithromycin. I got a rash that was really itchy and had some trouble breathing. I had to stop taking it and go to the ER. Be careful and watch for any signs of an allergic reaction.

I've heard that severe skin reactions are rare but can be life-threatening. If you notice any blistering or peeling skin, get medical attention immediately. It's not worth the risk.

I honestly thought antibiotics were just antibiotics. The side effects can be a bit surprising. Just remember, if you're worried, your doctor is there to help!
