Baqsimi 3mg/dose Nasal Powder 1 Pak has recently hit the market as an emergency treatment for severe hypoglycemia in people with diabetes. Unlike traditional glucagon injections, Baqsimi is a nasal powder that's easy to use and can quickly raise blood sugar levels by stimulating the liver to release stored sugar. This is a game changer for those who often experience low blood sugar, especially when they can't eat or drink. However, like all medications, it comes with potential side effects that range from mild to severe. It's crucial to weigh the benefits against the risks and understand what to expect. In this thread, let's discuss our experiences with Baqsimi, share tips on how to use it effectively, and talk about any side effects we've encountered. Have you or someone you know used Baqsimi? What was your experience like? Did you encounter any side effects? Let's start a conversation and help each other navigate this new treatment option.

Nosebleeds are a possible side effect, but they shouldn't be severe or prolonged. If you're experiencing frequent or heavy nosebleeds, it's definitely worth talking to your doctor about it.

I'm just waiting for the day they make a non-injection insulin that works as well. Any progress on that? We are just (understandably) cautious about the new stuff.

I've never used Baqsimi, but I've heard great things about it. My sister in law has to inject herself before eating every night... just not fun. I've been thinking about it for my son. My one concern is the cost. Has anyone found ways to make it more affordable? I'm afraid it might not be covered by all insurance plans, and I'd hate for anyone to skip using it because of the price.

Baqsimi has been a blessing for my grandmother who has trouble swallowing pills. But I agree, the side effects can be concerning. @Me: She's had a couple of mild headaches, but nothing she couldn't handle. Just make sure you're prepared for the common ones, and if serious ones occur (she's had no issues), you know what to do.

I'm glad I found this thread. I was considering Baqsimi but was worried about the side effects. @Me: nose irritation, a common cold, headache not so bad. @Me: What are your thoughts on the serious side effects? Anyone else have concerns about the allergic reactions? I'd rather deal with a bit of discomfort than risk a severe allergic reaction. Thoughts?

I have Baqsimi, but I'm not comfortable using it. I'm scared of giving myself a nosebleed or having an allergic reaction. Has anyone talked to their doctor about this? Maybe there are steps we can take to minimize the risks. @Me: I've done a lot of research and I trust my doctor, but I'm still nervous.

I was worried about the cost too, but my insurance covers it. And honestly, the convenience and peace of mind are worth every penny. Plus, I've seen some good coupons out there. You might want to check the Baqsimi website for more information. I'd recommend Baqsimi to anyone with severe low blood sugars, even if the cost is a bit higher than other methods. It's saved me from so many scary situations.

I've heard that Baqsimi can cause nausea in some people. I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced this and if there are any tips to manage it. I've never used it.
