So, I've been on Niva Thyroid 0.5gr (30mg) Tablets for the past few months to manage my thyroid issues. I've been doing great with the improvement in my energy levels, but I've been experiencing some side effects that I'm not sure are normal. I've had some hair loss, which I know is a thing with this medication, but I also have some muscle cramps and trouble sleeping. These are making it hard to get through the day and I'm wondering if other people on here have experienced similar issues? I'm just trying to find out what is normal and what I should be taking to my doctor. Are these side effects something to be worried about or just something to deal with? How did the rest of you manage the side effects on this medication?

I’ve been on Niva Thyroid for almost a year now, and the side effects were pretty manageable for me. The hair loss was the worst part, but it did grow back within a few months. I did experience some muscle cramps and trouble sleeping at first, but with a bit of adjustment to my diet and exercise routine, I didn't have much more trouble with them. Keep in mind that everyone's body responds differently to medication, so it's important to talk to your doctor about any concerns you have. Also, to the person who says they are freaked by the hair loss, it may feel like a lot at first, but know that it typically grows back.

I went through the same thing, but it was different for me, too. I did have hair loss, but the cramps were worse. It actually got to the point where I thought I should be in the hospital. It was a little worrisome, but it got better in a few months.

The side effects were so bad that I had to take a break from the medication. But when I did, I felt so tired and gained a lot of weight. My doctor said it's not uncommon to have side effects from taking or stopping this medication. It was hard to know what's the right way to go.

Hair loss? I can relate. Just wear a hat during that time, but the anxiety the hair-loss causes is just terrible. Ask me how I know.

I've been on Niva for about 6 months now, and I actually had some hair loss too. It sucks, but my doctor said it's pretty normal and should stop in a few months. I didn't have that much trouble sleeping, but I did notice I was more irritable and always hungry. I just had to adjust my diet and sleep habits.

I'm curious to know if anyone else had trouble with menstrual changes. Mine were all over the place for a while.
