I have been prescribed Belsomra 5mg Tablets to help with my insomnia. It's supposed to work by blocking orexins, which helps me fall asleep and stay asleep. However, I've been experiencing some side effects and I'm not sure if they're normal or if I should be concerned. I've heard stories about people having severe reactions, and I want to know if anyone else has had similar experiences. The possible side effects list is pretty long, and I'm worried about some of the more serious ones like hallucinations or muscle weakness. Has anyone else had issues with these, or am I just being paranoid?

I'm on day 3 of Belsomra and so far, so good. No side effects yet. I'll keep you all posted if that changes. Also, if you ever feel like you're having a bad reaction it’s always better to be safe than sorry. If it feels wrong, it probably is, call your doctor.

I've been taking Belsomra for a couple of weeks now and I'm not sure if it's helping or not. I feel like I'm sleeping better, but I'm also waking up feeling groggy and tired. It's like I'm not getting restful sleep. Has anyone else experienced this?

Be very careful with this one. I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't move or speak. I felt like I was paralyzed, it was so terrifying. I immediately called my doctor the next morning and he switched me to a different medication. I would be especially worried if you are experiencing anything like that, contact your doctor immediately!

I had some pretty nasty headaches when I first started taking Belsomra. My doctor told me to take it with food and I haven't had a problem since. Also, I didn’t see anything about it in the pamphlet but I feel like it’s working, I mean I actually feel rested when I wake up.

I'm wondering if anyone has had issues with muscle weakness? I've had it a couple of times and it's pretty scary. I've read that it can last from a few seconds to a few minutes, but it feels like an eternity when you're going through it. I called my doctor and he said to be careful and informed me it was a known side effect. So we are going to monitor it and see if it gets worse.

I had a really bad experience with Belsomra. I started having hallucinations and waking up to the feeling of being paralyzed. I called my doctor and they immediately took me off it and it was scary!
